When storing forklift batteries for a long period of time, in order to avoid damage or performance degradation, the following points should be noted: 1. The battery should be fully charged when stored for a long period of time. If the battery is stored at too low a charge level, the plates may be damaged due to over-discharge, resulting in a loss of battery capacity. For 48V 525Ah forklift batteries, after fully charged, supplemental charging should be done every once in a while (generally recommended 2 – 3 weeks) to maintain the battery in a fully charged state; 2.The environment where the battery is stored should be dry, well ventilated and at a suitable temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5℃ – 25℃. At the same time, avoid storing the battery in a humid place to prevent rust and corrosion of the battery shell and poles, which will affect the performance and safety of the battery;3.During long-term storage, you need to regularly check the appearance of the battery to see if there is any leakage, bulging and other abnormalities. At the same time, check whether the connection of the pole posts is loose, if loose, should be tightened in time to prevent poor contact leading to battery discharge or heating. It is also necessary to check the level of electrolyte, if the level is found to be too low, distilled water or special battery replenishment liquid should be added to the appropriate level.
